KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — August 7, 2025: The Extraordinary Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) concluded successfully in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, with key agreements reached between both sides and strong backing from the international community.

Leading the Cambodian delegation was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, General Tea Seiha. The high-level talks were convened amid heightened tensions along the shared border and were observed by representatives from Malaysia, the United States, and the People’s Republic of China.

During the meeting, the two sides adopted the Agreed Minutes and issued a Joint Press Statement—two significant steps toward de-escalation and improved bilateral coordination.

Speaking after the meeting, General Tea Seiha emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum. He urged Thailand to uphold the spirit of the discussions, calling for transparency, sincerity, and strict adherence to the existing ceasefire agreement.

“We must work together to rebuild mutual trust and restore normalcy along our shared border,” General Tea Seiha said, highlighting the need to prioritize peace, stability, and the well-being of both nations’ armed forces and citizens.

The outcome of the meeting was welcomed as a positive sign of commitment from both countries to resolve disputes through dialogue and cooperation.
